The Door Sentinel can be used in conjunction with French doors, doors with "sidelights" and with two piece steel door frames on commercial projects. The Door Sentinel fits lock sets from 3-3/4" to 7-3/4" standard lock sets with cutouts for 9-3/4" to 13-1/4" lock spread. This is the distance from the center of the plunger to the center of the deadbolt.
For most residential doors the Door Sentinel can be installed in about 10 minutes, some will require minor adjustments that will take longer. Door and hinge shields are for standard 1-3/4" door thicknesses. If the gap between your door and door frame is 1/8", then you can install the Door Sentinel Plate without adjustments. More clearance may be required for the door shield installation. If the gap is to tight, the Door Sentinel can be installed flat against the back side of the jamb with shims at each screw. Adjustments to most doors are easily accomplished.
